My kids have music class across the street and we often smell the delicious barbeque when we are done with our classes. I have visited this place before COVID, during COVID, and now after COVID. Our experience has been fairly consistent. Staffs are always friendly and they always keep the meat coming! My kids love their filet mignon! And their steaks are always my favorite. Anything with garlic is perfect for garlic lovers!! but recently I tried their chicken wings on one night...and honestly, how come they don't put their wings on takeout menu? They should since they have the prefect wings for the game day (especially if you are bored with the wings offerings from another chain wings specialty store...). The skin is crispy with all the seasoning and the meat is juicy. Their dessert menu is not the strong area - they are OK and I would only order them if you have a special celebration. I like their flan. The chocolate cake is just ok - feel premade but the ice-cream is really good. So usually I just stuff myself with their grilled pineapples (and in my Asian's mind, that's viewed as dessert. haha!) and let my stomach digest a little bit before having dessert elsewhere. Parking is relatively easy ever since COVID. And surprisingly, the restaurant is still decently full on the weeknights too! If you want to avoid crowd over the weekends, see if you could come on Thursday night :)

Amazing experience at Espetus in San Mateo. Came here with my boyfriend's family and we all enjoyed our time here. The service is amazing, we were seated and the entire process was explained to us with zero confusion. It's like a buffet, you get your carbs or salads and apps in the back buffet. Then you return to your table where you're served a wide variety of meats, shrimp, and pineapple. I have zero complaints here, the food was all 10/10 - I love the options of carbs they have here. My personal favorites were the lasagna, quinoa, and cheesy potatoes. Everything else they had to offer was delicious as well! Careful not to load up too much on the buffet, you definitely want to get your moneys worth with the meats they have to offer. At the end, we didn't have space for any desserts (bummer) but we were told to give their mint mocha a try - and thankfully we did! It was so yummy, a warm Ghirardelli mocha with a splash of mint. This is an alcoholic drink though just a forewarning to those who may not like that. Overall, 100/10 experience. Servers were so kind and funny, and the ambiance is very family friendly - we will be back soon!

Came here on a sunday night & it wasn't too busy at all. The place is huge and clean. The servers were very nice and welcoming as well. I love the sides & salad bar options ~ the meats were also really good, i think i got a piece of everything that was doing around haha, my favorite was the flat iron steak and grilled pineapple. We order the gelato crème brulee and dulce de leche afterwards and it was so good.

If you are looking for Brazilian Churrasco, look not further because Espetus delivers authentic, traditional, Gaucho experience. They offer "12-14 signature cuts of steak, pork, chicken, lamb, and shrimp, along with a variety of fresh seasonal salads, appetizers, crispy polenta, breaded banana, and hot dishes that reflect the bounty of Brazilian cuisine. Pão de Queijo (Brazilian Cheese Bread) is served throughout the meal." Our favorites were... picanha: sirloin steak A Brazilian favorite, this top butt flat cut is remarkably flavorful and tender. beef ribs: savory ribs cooked slowly to perfection. filet mignon: the most tender cut of beef. Referred to as the "king of steaks" leg of lamb: tender leg of lamb has a soft, subtle flavor. Try it with mint jelly. home-style pork sausage: traditional Brazilian home-style sausage is made in-house, grilled to perfection, and packed with flavor. Grilled Pineapple: sweet pineapple tastes especially delicious grilled on an open flame and it promotes healthy digestion. Not my favorite, but when here, I usually get a few chicken hearts: Chicken Hearts are a Brazilian delicacy. Every bite is tender, juicy, and they're incredibly rich in iron and protein. The service is always friendly, professional, and hospitable. Pace yourself! They offer a lot of charcoaled meats. So don't fill up on the salads or appetizers. It's a great dining experience of you've never tried it.

If you're a meat lover, this spot is an absolute must-visit. I finally got to try it a few days ago, and it was packed which is a great sign right off the bat. The interior was beautifully decorated, with a festive and inviting atmosphere. The service was attentive and friendly. Before the meat service began, they offered a buffet-style bar with a variety of dishes to sample. The highlight for me was the salmon which was unbelievably soft and melted in my mouth. At each table, there's a handy sign you can flip to signal whether you're ready for the meat or need a break. Once we flipped ours, the servers didn't miss a beat. They kept coming by nonstop with a variety of perfectly cooked meats, each one bursting with flavor. For the quality and experience, I'd say it's well worth the money. I can't wait to come back and enjoy it all over again!

Date of Visit: 12/13/2024 We visited the Espetus Brazilian Steakhouse in San Mateo for our holiday lunch event. Espetus is one of the Brazilian Steakhouses in the Bay Area that provides authentic gaucho taste. Lunch is $54.95 per person, which offers 12-14 signature cuts of steak, pork, chicken, chicken heart, lamb, and shrimp, and they also have grilled pineapple. The salad bar and the Feijoada bar have many different salads, ham, cheese, and soup. I ordered a glass of the 2021 Rutherford Hill Merlot from Napa Valley and the 2021 Hearst Cabernet Sauvignon from Central Coast Paso Robles to pair with meat and seafood. The atmosphere was great and the waiter with the meat came often to check with us. Many other tables celebrate birthdays and it was a nice place to do so.

Espetus get's a yes hands down across the board, we arrived around 6:30pm on a Friday I fully expected a long wait for a table but to my surprise we were seated promptly. The restaurant looks amazing when you first walk in. Or waiter greeted us immediately and welcomed us. The first stop the salad bar which may be one of the best looking salads bars I have seen in a long time. Our party of three went all in for the dinner menu which was amazing. The leg of lamb was juicy and succulent, the giant sized grilled shrimp was addicting. All the meats were cooked to perfection. I loved the grilled pineapple. We opted to share a pitcher of Sangria through out our evening. Just wanted to mention about 45 minutes into our meal people were coming in from everywhere 5-10 people at a time so if you come later parking may be an issue.

Meat lovers welcome. Great place to celebrate special occasions or just dinner date. Buffet style steak house, the food comes to you. I love every pieces of meat. For those who doesn't eat meat, their salad bar has variety of dishes to chose from. The waiters are friendly and made sure all tables with green sign up got served. Any table with a birthday celebration, the staff's gathered around and sang happy birthday.

We hosted our work holiday lunch party at this Brazilian steakhouse, and it was a fantastic choice. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it the perfect setting for a festive gathering. The endless rotation of meats was impressive, but my favorite was definitely the pork--juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The sides were just as memorable, offering the perfect complement to the main course. Everything from the cheesy pão de queijo to the fresh salads and indulgent mashed potatoes was spot-on. The service was attentive and ensured everyone had a great experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just indulging in a fantastic meal, this place is worth a visit.

Good ambiance. No issues making a reservation for a large party. I enjoyed the cocktails (Brazilian Mojito & red Sangria). Wide selections for cocktails, wines, and beers. The buffet side dishes food were delicious and fresh although, some of the meats served on the skeweres were dry, too chewy, or burnt on edges. For dessert, I ordered the Petit Gateau for dessert and absolutely loved it.
